Margot Moss, the main character, is half Spanish and half British. She describes herself as “what you get when you cross PenĂ©lope Cruz with Lily Collins.” And she loves early 2000s hits. Hence the 3+ hours of music here! For example, take He Wasn’t Man Enough by Toni Braxton. This song helped her get over a ruptured corazĂ³n. And Mariah’s Honey helps her achieve a fabulous mood. Here’s a bit about the book:
The Manhattan Mishap is a hilarious, stylish, and heartfelt novel about Margot Moss, a gregarious and witty woman who knows what she wants from life but is struggling to actualize her dreams. After coming to work expecting a promotion, Margot inadvertently quits her job when her expectations of recognition aren’t met, and her workplace rival is promoted instead. Now out of work and nothing but possibility ahead of her, she sets out on a wild adventure towards love, Manhattan, and self-discovery—past mistakes be damned.
