Over the years, blogging helped me create a fierce life for myself. Like, seriously fierce. I honestly can’t imagine where I’d be without it. Also, I think I’d go insane if I didn’t at least have my blog as a creative outlet. Although, it’s definitely not without its stressful moments. But let’s focus on the positives here. (Positive thoughts, positive life.) I wouldn’t be the woman I am today without my blog to keep me glam, focused and busier than ever.
I’ve thought about quitting my blog many times before—not because I don’t love it, but because of the pressures of social media, the constant neediness of having a website and feeling like I’m a slave to my passion. However, these are all fleeting feelings. At the end of the day, blogging helped me create a fierce life and I couldn’t be more grateful.
3 Ways Blogging Helped Me Create a Fierce Life
1. It helped me make lifelong friends
When I first moved to Toronto, having a blog was a total life saver. It helped me get into events, where I ended up talking to people and making new friends. Even though I used to hate going to events alone, it ended up be so worth it. Most of the friends I still have to this day in Toronto are ones that I made at blogging events or fashion shows! You never know who you might meet if you just sip a glass of bubbly and get chatting.
2. I’ve discovered incredibly fierce brands
Blogging helped me discover some seriously fierce, animal print loving brands that I otherwise may never have known about. To name a few: Unleash Your Beast, Dancing Leopard and Cult of Coquette. Also, it was through my blog that I discovered the Atelier Guarin brand and ended up becoming friends with the designer himself. By the way—I’m wearing an abstract zebra print coat by Atelier Guarin in these photos! Let me just say that my closet is very thankful for my blog.
3. My experiences have been fabulous
One of my favourite things about blogging are all the experiences I’ve had. From staying in the most glamorous hotels to trying the fanciest cocktails and checking out the coolest events. My social life has definitely been ferociously entertaining since I began blogging—over 5 years ago now. I love getting dressed up, meeting new people and trying different things. To say that writing The Lady-like Leopard has enriched my life would be a total understatement.
Ultimately, I get to make fantastic friends, wear unbelievably chic clothes, look my fiercest, take millions of photos and do what I love the most: write! And who knows, maybe one day I’ll make this a full-time gig. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
