Nothing ruins a trip more than stress. And since they say “it’s not about the destination, but the journey”—then you want to make sure you have easy-going travels. I once went on a trip with someone who lost their passport 15 minutes prior to departing, only packed dirty laundry and forgot to bring any shoes. It was the most stressful trip of my life and I had done everything I needed to in order to have my own easy-going travels.
Needless to say, I never travelled with her again. Ever.
Easy-going travels are more achievable than you think. From wearing comfortable shoes to being that ~fashionable freak~ doing a sheet mask on-board a flight, here’s how to travel at your fiercest.
5 Ways to Have Ferociously Easy-Going Travels

Look your best before you leave
We all know that to feel your best, you’ve got to look your best. That’s why before I travel I like to make sure that I’m at my fiercest. I mean, who wants to be worrying about chipped nails, split ends or dry skin? Not me! Getting yourself prepped pre-flight will help you arrive looking as flawless as possible.

Wear comfortable shoes
My go-to travel shoes are my animal print sneakers from Aldo. (Or BalenciALDO as I sometimes like to joke.) They’re fierce, fashion-forward and comfortable enough to trudge through endless airport terminals. Plus, you can keep the rest of your outfit simple and let your shoes do the talking.

Keep your essentials handy
Any traveller knows how many times per trip you have to get out your passport, boarding pass or credit card to buy a mini bag of chips for $10. (Airport food is a sick joke.) Even though my boyfriend hates it, I love to travel with a fanny pack. Hands-free, easy access? Sign me up!

Pick out your outfits before you leave
Instead of just throwing a bunch of clothes in a suitcase and hoping for the best, it’s worth it to organize your outfits pre-trip. Think about where you’re going, what the weather is going to be like and what outings you have planned. Packing the right outfits guarantees easy-going travels and not having to stress about getting dressed.

Take care of your skin
As you know—moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! On a regular day, it’s important to take care of your skin. And even more important when you’re about to hop on a plane. The first step in having easy-going travels is to make sure you’re stepping up to the plate when it comes to your skincare routine. Be that “weird” person with an on-board sheet mask.
