When you love to travel, you know the feeling of being so excited to go to new places and have new experiences. However, at the same time, you could find that you don’t tend to do super long flights because you’re worried about the time & distance. But it’s time to change that! If you’re ready to book your first long-haul trip, here are three things to keep in mind.
Your First Long-Haul Trip

Choose the Right Airline
So the very first thing that you’ll want to think about here, is which airline you’re going to fly with. Think about what you want from the flight. Do you want to spend as little as possible or are you happy to pay for comfort? Really research which kind of airline is going to be best for you. Personally, I tend to go for which flight is the lowest cost for where I want to go and when.

Book Your Times Well
The next thing to really keep in mind is the time that you’re flying. You’ll want to make sure that you’re happy with the time that you choose to leave your own country, but also the time that you land, too. If you want this to work out best for you and your jet lag, then you’re going to want to really plan your times well. For example, when I fly to Sydney I leave at night and arrive in the morning so I can sleep the whole way there! Or most of it anyway.

Adjust to the Time Difference
And finally, you’re then going to want to try and adjust to the new time zone as quickly as possible. If you know that you may struggle when you arrive at the location (which you very well might), then adjusting your sleep will help you. Take a look at the infographic below to see just how you can do this. As for me, I’ve never had trouble sleeping on planes. It’s truly a blessing.
