Well, leo lovers, that time of year has once again come & gone! And the fiercest TIFF 2018 parties I attended did not disappoint. Once the Toronto International Film Festival hits the city, things get absolutely crazy! But I love it. I love everything from getting ready (wine, makeup & a 90s playlist) to taking photos, sipping champagne & mingling with those fashionable friends of mine.
Between the fiercest TIFF 2018 parties, I was hitting up shows at fashion week and getting pampered at a few beauty & gifting lounges. I had the most gorgeous manicure and Silk’n face treatment done at Overcat PR & Shopper’s Drug Mart’s #SDMBeauTIFFul lounge—which was the perfect way to relax & recharge after the party madness. I also checked out RockItPromo’s Suite on the Six lounge for some glam goodies, too.
The Fiercest TIFF 2018 Parties
ET Canada’s Kick-Off Party
I started off the week’s festivities with Sebastian at the ET Canada party at Ricarda’s Atrium. And we both coincidentally showed up in our sassiest snakeskin outfits! I don’t really like me in that photo of us together but I couldn’t not post proof of our serpent skins. Twinning! The party had a Dominican Republic theme and there were Dominican-inspired cocktails and a few latin dance performances, too. It totally reminded me of my mom’s Peruvian parties we used to throw when I was a kid.
Sharp Magazine X Bold Films
The Sharp Magazine X Bold Films party was fabulous. Not only because the venue was amazing (it was held in an old bank on Bay Street) but because I was there with my incredibly handsome boyfriend and two of my best friends. We danced, drank & nibbled the night away. Oh, and André shook hands with Jake Busey while I reached for another appetizer.
Afterwards, we went to Shangri-La to have one final cocktail and try to spot some more celebs. As we sipped the most expensive mojitos I’ve ever had, we saw Julianne Moore, Joel Edgerton and a few actors that André claimed were from superhero movies but I didn’t recognize them.
Birks Women in Film Tribute
As we all know, supporting women in film is a major movement right now. However, Birks has been honouring fabulous women long before it became this year’s most talked about subject. This fête was definitely fierce. When we arrived, we had signs with our names & media outlets written on them and were escorted onto the red carpet. I felt like a total celeb. Sebastian got a video of me working it on the red carpet, which you can find here on my insta. I only wish that I had known he’d been filming so I could’ve turned up the sass levels.
Canadian Film Centre BBQ
Last year the weather for the Canadian Film Festival BBQ was scorching hot. This year, it was freezing! But of course, it was still a lot of fun. I tried the most delicious rosé cider and ate an equally as tasty burger—although, it took us an hour in line to get one! I also ran into my favourite little actress in the world, Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Some of you might remember that when I first moved to Toronto, as well as hustling my way onto the fashion scene, I was nannying this little cutie full-time.
Anyway, as per usual it was a fabulous week. Thanks to everyone who invited me to the fiercest TIFF 2018 parties! Can’t wait for next year.
