Recently, I was in the city of my dreams with the love of my life. We stayed at Hotel 50 Bowery in Chinatown, New York and it was fabulous! The hotel is literally brand spanking new—they just celebrated their 1-year anniversary on May 7th 2018. No doubt, you’d expect such a young hotel to have a few bumps that they’re working out. However, that wasn’t the case at all.
Hotel 50 Bowery was created to entice business travellers, tourists & locals alike. The space truly encapsulates the energy of the city and encourages you to explore all that New York has to offer. With a vibrant location, mouth-watering dining experiences and the most breathtaking views of Manhattan, what’s not to love? Oh, and another perk: they’re pet friendly!
The reason for our trip was to attend Tribeca Film Festival—our first time to the event. And although we only had a weekend in The Big Apple, we definitely made the most of it. The only thing I’d do differently next time is stay longer! But if a weekend is all we have in New York, I’ll take it every time. Here’s why I think you guys will be as obsessed with Hotel 50 Bowery as I am after you check-in.
3 Reasons Why We Loved Hotel 50 Bowery
1. The rooftop bar & breathtaking views
Our room wasn’t available when we first got to New York. To be fair, we arrived quite a few hours before check-in so it was completely understandable! After going out for breakfast at Landmark Diner—a total must-eat-at place by the way—we headed back to Hotel 50 Bowery for rooftop drinks. Of course, it was only 10am but when in New York anything goes.
We ended up getting an early morning buzz with a side of stunning views. The rooftop was to die for! We spent a bit of time being tourists on the terrace, snapping photos of the gorgeous city below. My grapefruit mimosas just happened to be the perfect way to begin the trip.
2. Rooms so gorgeous you won’t want to leave
A cozy king-size bed, concrete ceilings & artful decor—just my kind of place. I’d love for this to be my apartment. It kind of was for the weekend anyway! The room was everything we needed & more. There was plenty of space for our luggage, toiletries and all the pairs of shoes that I absolutely needed for a weekend getaway. And we had a gorgeous view of the city below! What more could you ask for?
It’s difficult for me to pick just one thing that I loved about the room. I guess my top 3 would be: the spacious bathroom, the dreamy bed and the modern details like the rounded mirror beside the door. However, all together it was extremely visually appealing.
3. Incredibly friendly & accommodating staff
Everyone at Hotel 50 Bowery was super sweet, friendly and made sure that we were completely looked after. From storing our luggage for us until our room was ready to sending up a bottle of champagne to welcome us to the hotel—they truly hit customer service out of the park! Every request we had was fulfilled with a smile. Which, was only about one request because everything else was already taken care of.
