It was dreary and drizzly on the night of the Drake Catering fall menu tasting. However, no amount of rain could keep me away! After all, I was there for the launch of Drake Catering at the Burroughes. And if that evening was anything to go by, then this one was going to be mouth-wateringly delicious as well. In fact, my mouth was pretty much instantly salivating at just the invitation to try this round of delectable bites.
This time, the tasting was held at the very insta-worthy Drake Commissary. We were invited into a cozy section of the restaurant to sip cocktails and help ourselves to a selection of goodies. We were also served a variety of items from their heavenly fall menu. Some of my favourites included the parmesan topped meatballs, broccoli tempura with a dollop of guacamole and the popcorn shrimp sprinkled with actual caramel popcorn.
The flavours were extremely adventurous and yet not intimidating at all. As we learned on our kitchen tour, Drake Catering isn’t fond of wasting. For example, parts of vegetables that they can’t use for one meal are often dehydrated and made into powders that are then used in other dishes. Like, the broccoli tempura batter!

At the end of the night, we left feeling completely satisfied—and maybe a little bit buzzed. Everything was so tempting! Of course we had to try one—or three—of each.
