My 3 Favourite Soirées at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival

TIFF 2017 Soirées | NKPR IT House X Producers Ball | The Lady-like Leopard

I kept it pretty low-key this year at the Toronto International Film Festival. Last year I went a little bit party-crazy, but with my freelance schedule taking over my life lately—yes, it’s a common misconception that freelancers have all the time in the world—I wasn’t able to get out as much as I wanted. However, when I did decide to strap on some sky high stilettos and brave the night for some fabulous TIFF 2017 soirées, it was well worth it.

Here are my favourite TIFF 2017 soirées!

1. Toronto Life Best Dressed

I seriously can’t think of a better way to start off the festival than with Toronto Life’s Best Dressed party. First of all, there was a fabulous red carpet entrance lined with leafy plants that I can’t get enough of—as you might know from my insta. Then there was fashion illustrations, a charcuterie table, an oyster bar, and gin martinis that packed just the right amount of lemon punch. Oh, and guess what else?! Estee Lauder had their ModiFace lipstick advisor there to try out too.

WHAT I’M WEARING:

chunky lace dress | YOUR FAVOURITE DRESSES
strappy sandals | TONY BIANCO
leopard clutch | ZARA

2. L’Oréal X Julianne Moore

Julianne Moore. Need I say anything else? I always knew she was cool, but seeing her in Tom Ford’s A Single Man was a real game changer for me. I absolutely adore her in that movie. But anyways, L’Oréal truly outdid themselves. There was Veuve Clicquot flowing along with mouthwatering lamb sliders and an assortment of other delicious finger foods. An added bonus: Thanks to their jam-packed gift bag, I don’t think I’ll be having to buy makeup any time soon!

3. Canadian Film Centre BBQ

This was my final hurrah of the TIFF 2017 soirées! It was such a relaxing way to spend an afternoon in the sun, chatting about virtual reality, film, writing and whatever else we were talking about between sips of rosé. I went with my boyfriend to this one. We hardly ever go to parties together, but it was really nice to be out with him enjoying the BBQ together. We were both excited to check out the House of Immersive Media— party because I was attending on behalf of my fashion tech blog VR in Vera Wang and he has a start-up VR/ArchViz company!

WHAT I’M WEARING

off-the-shoulder top | EVER NEW
cut off jeans | VINTAGE LEVIS
strappy sandals | STEVE MADDEN
leopard patch bag | ALDO

IT House X Producers Ball

Finally, a shout out to NKPR’s IT House and Producers Ball for always making the TIFF experience that much more glam. The media preview for IT House was beyond fabulous! Pasta was cooking at 8am, frozen yogurt was ready to be served, I had my aura read and I walked out of there with the biggest fortune cookie I’ve ever seen in my life! Oh, and I learned a little fun fact about the Swarovski light installations upstairs—they’re made from the same lights as LuMee so really, it was the perfect selfie spot!

Thanks to everyone who invited me on behalf of The Lady-like Leopard and VR in Vera Wang to these events! I had a blast. Can’t wait for next year. Ps. Rent my gorgeous Rose Garden lace dress from Your Favourite Dresses here.
