For a lot of girls, living with body insecurities has just become part of every day life. It can make them nervous when they’re going out. And it can be difficult to put their mind off their body troubles. But the first thing you need to remember is that it happens to us all. Even celebrities like Beyonce who seem to have barrels of confidence have body insecurities. (FUN FACT: Beyonce’s is her feet.)
Trust me, we all have them. If I’m being completely honest, mine would be my skin and maybe what I consider to be a larger-than-life nose. But it doesn’t mean I let them get me down. I’ve learned to accept myself the way I am. So, if you’re suffering from body blues, here’s some advice every girl needs when dealing with body insecurities.
The Advice Every Girl Needs When Dealing with Body Insecurities
Focus on areas you love instead
It can be difficult to keep your eyes off the body part you don’t like when you look in the mirror. After all, you’re instantly drawn to areas that you despise. But if you do this, you’re going to make yourself unhappy. So, the best way you can deal with a body insecurity is to put your focus on other areas you love instead.
There’s bound to be a part of your body that you think is actually okay. Concentrate on making that area look amazing to put your mind off your other body insecurities. For example, if you make your legs look absolutely superb, you’ll receive compliments about them. Right? That can then give you a boost and ensure your insecurity goes to the back of your mind.
Make changes to that area
It can sometimes be good to deal with the problematic area head-on if you’re suffering from a body insecurity. After all, there might be a simple way to change the area to love it again. For instance, if it’s your skin, it might be that you start going for regular facials which can give it a boost. You’ll soon have younger looking skin. And who doesn’t want that?
Or if it’s your lips, you can use makeup to make them look completely different. In fact, some good lipstick and liner can give you much fuller lips in no time; it’ll look like you’ve had the top plastic surgeons working on them! But without the cost or pain, of course. As for your stomach, which is often a top insecurity for girls, you can make changes to your diet and exercise. You’ll definitely find your stomach and the rest of your health changes for the better by doing this.
Embrace the insecurity
A lot of people who have body insecurities don’t want to talk about it. They hide their head in the sand and lose confidence over their body woe. But if you want to be able to move past the insecurity, you need to embrace it. After all, we all have areas of our body which are unique. And it helps to make us special and different from one another.
Think about how dull it would be if we were all the same! Don’t be afraid to talk about your body insecurity, either—maybe with friends, family, a lover? In fact, a lot of celebs do this to help them get past their insecurities. Talking about it can make it a less overwhelming thing in your life.
And always remember to accept compliments. They can give you a much-needed boost to feel more confident about your body!Â
