When my event savvy friend, Kateryna, invited me to come along to the launch party of The Drake Hotel‘s latest endeavour into the world of catering, I couldn’t say no. I’m a fan of anything The Drake Hotel does. So, when I heard they’d set in motion a new catering business, Drake Catering Toronto, I had to check it out. Well, that and I was absolutely starving and ready for some insanely delicious food. (Don’t judge me. You would’ve done the same.)
The Drake Catering fiesta was held at The Burroughes on Queen West. Ugh, that space is heaven. If I could just live there forever I would be the happiest girl on earth. But that’s another story.
We were greeted with wine and appetizers when we arrived to the 6th floor event space. (Side thought: Wouldn’t it be a dream to be greeted everywhere with wine and appetizers? Yes, yes it would.) There were different food stations set up all over. We didn’t know where to begin! But we came up with a great plan: seafood, drink, pasta, drink, charcuterie, drink. I guess we’re a fan of patterns.
And the best kept secret of the night? The rooftop dessert bar. What a view! And what a trip for my taste buds. I’m serious. Tinashe ain’t got nothin’ on this joyride. To be honest, it probably wasn’t the best idea to consume a year’s worth of calories in one night, two weeks before a wedding but… what’s done is done. And we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
