It’s time to get your spring wardrobe ready! It might not be warm enough to forgo your jackets just yet but the sun is shining and the birds are chirping – and maybe love is in the air (that’s supposed to happen in spring, right?). Officially, winter is over and I am ecstatic.
I’ve been missing warm weather, sleeveless tops and generally just my life in Sydney lately so I thought I’d share these photos I took in Newtown last January. It was a beyond gorgeous day and my cousin Cherie and I were on our way to meet my best friend Zach and his boyfriend for cocktails at Newtown Hotel. We never miss a good opportunity for a photo shoot – especially if there are brick walls involved.
How to get Your Spring Wardrobe Ready-to-Wear Now
First of all, get rid of all winter clothes – and I mean all of them. We’ve been forced into parkas for many long months and I don’t want to see another one until next November. Spring wardrobe all the way!
Organize your closet into sections: tank tops, short sleeves, off-the-shoulder. It’ll make looking for the right top so much easier! Do the same for bottoms like, cuffed denim, dark denim, distressed denim, etc.
Do a spring clean and get rid of any clothes that you haven’t worn in a while. I did a bit of an early spring clean and ended up with 4 bags of clothes that I don’t wear anymore. Sometimes it takes a while but you’ve got to be ruthless and you’ve got to do it.
Once you’ve cleaned and organized your closet it’ll be so much easier to find the clothes you love and to put together hundreds of spring outfits. Well, hundreds may be an exaggeration (depending on the size of your closet) but you’ll at least be able to come up with five different #ootds if you mix and match.
I created a photo folder in my phone called “Potential Outfits” and whenever I try on a new outfit I’ll save it in that folder so that the next time I’m stuck on what to wear I can just browse through looks I’ve already put together! It’s such a life saver – especially when you’re having one of those I have nothing to wear moments.
